Michael McDonald is like Michael Bolton in that I don't know anyone
who is a fan of his. I hear his bland music on lite rock stations
and can't understand how anybody could really get into it. I don't
mean to insult him, but I am serious when I say he ruined the Doobie
Brothers with garbage like "Takin' it to the streets" and
all that sludge. Don't be offended, I guess I just don't get it with
so much better stuff and more talented people out there, whats the
attraction. Now he has this Motown CD out? Come on. Those songs have
been played to death and covered to death, to hear this guy do it
only makes me nauseous. I can't stand Celine Dion or Barbra
Streisand, but I can see why they have fans. This guy I don't get at
all, please someone explain it to me. (If you are a fan, don't be
offended. I honestly need an explanation.)

I have always thought you are the sexiest man alive and you have the
most passion in your voice of anyone ever recorded. I used to live
in LA and saw you a few times in Santa Monica. One time I saw you
sit in with Robin Ford's band at a place (some Chinese sounding
nightclub)in Santa Monica in circa 1986. It was awesome. I would
love to see you in concert again. Seeing your TV commercial now
makes me really want to see and meet you in person. I think you are
so hot!!!!!!!!! I do visit LA still on business. Please email me if
you are performing anywhere close to NC. It doesn't really matter
where you play, I would go where you are if you would give me a few
weeks notice.

I absolutely loved the interview Michael McDonald gave on NPR this
morning. His rendition of Stevie Wonder's "All is Fair in
Love" brought tears to my eyes.
I listened to excerpts of his new CD "Motown," on
Windows Media player before ordering the CD. Even though obviously
it's a great album, I feel it would have been even more spectacular
if it featured Michael singing alone, with just his piano to
accompany him, like he did on NPR. With just Michael's voice and the
soulful way he plays the piano, the lyrics of the songs are much
more heartfelt and resonate down to the tips of my toes.

heard Michael was on the Steely Dan album Katie Lied on the song
